Inside My Pictures and Stories

Students create and illustrate their own books with their name
and picture on the cover, building feelings of authorship,
 ownership, competence, and confidence.

Monitoring Notes help teachers record and  monitor instruction, interactions, and planning as an authentic assessment that documents progress over time.

Teaching and Practice area provides space for related
work on words and skills, including phonemic awareness,
phonics, vocabulary alphabet handwriting and more.

Students draw pictures above the line and then write or dictate their stories underneath. This helps to develop their ability to turn oral language into text
and narrative structures.
