For more than a decade, The Learning Network has specialized in providing job-embedded staff development that enables teachers and principals to work more effectively with students and other staff members. While our original staff development model continues to be used in many successful schools that are part of The Learning Network, major school districts are now also using The Learning Network to provide job-embedded staff development that is customized to meet specific needs and goals.

During the 2005-06 school year, The Learning Network began providing customized job-embedded staff development for the District of Columbia Public Schools. The focus of this project has been on improving writing instruction through the use formative assessment. Customized staff development has also been occurring in Huntsville, TX, where the emphasis has been on implementing a balanced literacy model. A new job-embedded staff development project for the Chicago Public Schools will begin during the 2006-07 school year.
